MCO received notification this morning that the Department of Corrections will be on site today announcing the closure of the Mound Correctional Facility.
Earlier this year the Republican led House Appropriations Sub-Committee on Corrections specifically identified the closure of Mound in its FY ‘11-‘12 budget…something not done in recent times. Normally cuts are announced in terms of $ savings and the decision as to how to achieve the savings is left to the DOC.
This special game will feature:
Just for MCO members… Lower Level Faceoff tickets for only $12/each plus no service fees!

Put together by one of our very own CO’s and the help of many others, the Battle of the Bands will kick off at the Little River Casino & Resort on October 1st. General Admission is just $10 each and the proceeds go to support the local Shop-With-A-Cop Program.
Each December, corrections officers, local sheriff’s deputies, police and more bring local children from struggling families together for a holiday party and then take them shopping for presents for their family.
We’re proud to have Corrections Officers involved in this program and especially to take such a lead role! So come on… rock out and help some kids this holiday season!
Tickets available at Startickets, Little River Casino Gift Shop and at the door.
NOTICE 1/10/17: The Exchange Transfer List was cleared Jan. 10, 2017. The clearing was announced in November 2016. Many people leave the Department or get a transfer without notifying MCO to remove their name from the list. Clearing the list once a year means the list is more useful and effective.
If you requested to be placed on the list before August 2016, your name was removed unless you contacted MCO to keep it on the list. You may submit a new request if your name was removed and you would like your name placed back on the list.
If you are interested in placing your name on the Exchange Transfers list, (Article 15, Part D, Section A-6) please send the following information: your name, your home phone number, classification (E-9, E-10, etc.), current institution, desired institution and your facility’s phone number. Please mail to: Anita Lloyd, c/o MCO Report, 421 W. Kalamazoo St., Lansing, MI 48933, or send via e-mail to email@example.com.
• When officers ask to be added to the list, their names are placed at the top. This means the location of your name on the list will change. Please download and search for your name in the list before resubmitting your request.
• Officers who would like to work at Woodland, Forensic Center or SAI may not get there through an exchange transfer. To work at Woodland, Forensic or SAI, apply directly to the facility.
• All transfer requests must be submitted in writing and must be approved by both institutions’ wardens.
• Contact us when your name no longer needs to be on the list.
