As a member of MCO, your children are eligible for college scholarships through Union Plus, SEIU, and MCO. Each group has their own application process and timetable, as laid out below. Please watch for updates when the new applications are available each year and get your submissions in before the deadline.
Union Plus Scholarship Program
Apply online for the 2012 Union Plus Scholarship. Deadline to apply: January 31, 2012. This year’s application is entirely online – allowing students to complete their application over time and save their responses.
Since 1992, the Union Plus Scholarship Program has awarded more than $3.2 million to students of working families who want to begin or continue their post-secondary education. Over 2,100 families have benefited from our commitment to higher education. The Union Plus Scholarship Program is offered through the Union Plus Education Foundation.
SEIU 2012-13 Scholarships
Unions help working families fulfill their dreams in many different ways. At SEIU, this includes yearly college scholarship opportunities. Deadline to apply: March 1, 2012.
Through five different scholarship programs, SEIU awards 53 scholarships that enable SEIU members and their children to pursue their educational goals at colleges, universities, labor study programs and technical schools.
MCO Scholarships
MCO offers 20 scholarships of $750 each to children of MCO members entering (or in) college. Applications will be available in March for the 2012-2013 academic year. Deadline to apply: June 1, 2012.
