Legislature could remove sunset from retirees legislation; contact your legislators!

Yesterday, the House corrections budget chairman Greg MacMaster introduced a bill to remove the sunset of Sept. 30, 2013 from the law that allows retirees to work part time in prisons.

This would let the program – which the Department of Corrections claimed was just a stopgap measure while they trained new officers – continue indefinitely!

Research the bill here. You can also read the actual bill here.

MCO is asking all members to contact their own legislators immediately and ask them to vote no! Click here to send your legislators an email.
