Between late September and early November 2025, multiple Michigan correctional facilities experienced a surge in violent incidents, contraband discoveries, and threats to staff safety. Marquette Branch Prison (MBP)
10/11/2025- A prisoner assaulted an officer with an unknown liquid.
Three prisoners went to segregation for dangerous contraband.

10/15/2025- Three prisoners went to segregation for threatening staff.
There was an assault on staff.

10/16/2025- One prisoner went to segregation for dangerous contraband.
Two prisoners went to segregation for weapons.

10/17/2025- Four prisoners went to segregation for weapons.
One prisoner went to segregation for threatening behavior.
One prisoner went to segregation for assault on another prisoner.

10/20/2025- One prisoner assaulted another prisoner.
One prisoner went to segregation for a weapon.
One prisoner went to segregation for a felony.
One prisoner went to segregation for dangerous contraband.
There was an assault on staff.

Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility (WHV)
10/21/25- While prisoners were being locked up from their sanction showers, a prisoner waited for an officer to walk past her door. The prisoner stepped out of the room and struck the officer with a closed fist in the face. The prisoner continued to hit the officer in the face and body. The prisoner jumped on the officer’s back which caused injuries to the officer’s wrist and face.

34 Assaults on prisoners

12 Staff assaults
10/15/2025- A cell phone was found on a prisoner.
10/20/2025- There were two assaults on staff.

Central Michigan Correctional Facility (STF)
10/17/2025- A prisoner assaulted two officers by throwing fist sized rocks at them.

St. Louis Correctional Facility (SLF)
10/18/2025- A prisoner punched an officer in the face and resisted staff. Three officers were injured, including one with a fractured nasal cavity.

Lakeland Correctional Facility (LCF)
9/26/2025- A prisoner in an altered state punched an officer in the face.
9/30/2025- A prisoner punched an officer in the head numerous times.

Gus Harrison Correctional Facility (ARF)
11/4/2025- When being placed in the shower, a prisoner spit on an officer striking him in the face, mouth, and eyes.
