St. Louis Correctional Facility (SLF) – December 2025

December 2025 at St. Louis Correctional Facility (SLF) was marked by a series of critical incidents that underscored the volatility, strain, and operational challenges facing officers throughout the institution. Across nearly every housing unit, officers encountered a pattern of assaults, disruptive behavior, and medical emergencies that demanded constant vigilance and rapid response.

Throughout the month, officers were subjected to physical attacks, resistance during escorts, and multiple incidents requiring the use of emergency restraint measures. Several large-scale fights erupted across units and on the main walkway, some involving weapons and coordinated resistance. Medical emergencies—including head injuries, chest pain, unresponsiveness, and drug overdoses—required repeated ambulance transports.

The cumulative effect of these events reflects a facility operating under significant pressure, with staff repeatedly placed in harm’s way while managing unpredictable and often violent behavior. December’s incident pattern highlights not only the dangers inherent in correctional work but also the resilience and professionalism required of SLF personnel as they navigated one of the most turbulent months of the year.
