LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING - PAID SICK TIME FOR NONCAREER EMPLOYEES

The Office of the State Employer and the Michigan Corrections Organization agree that noncareer bargaining unit employees will be credited with paid sick time in accordance with, and available for use as described in, the following provisions of the amended collective bargaining agreement, as attached:

Article 10 Disciplinary Action, Section D

Article 12 Health and Safety, Section G

Article 17 Overtime, Section A, and Section F

Article 29 Paid Sick Leave

Article 31 Shift Differential

LOU #3 Implementation of the Federal Family and Medical Leave Act

This Letter of Understanding creates no additional leave rights or leave entitlements, or any other right or entitlement, for noncareer bargaining unit employees under any other provision of the collective bargaining agreement.

Upon approval of the Michigan Civil Service Commission, paid sick time for noncareer bargaining unit employees will be effective with the pay period beginning February 16, 2025, and available as soon as administratively feasible.
