POSITION STATEMENT

There may be occasions on which you do not want the member to appear at the Discipline Conference.  Perhaps the allegations of work misconduct could also be criminal in nature and the members’ silence is best.  Perhaps the member is hot-headed, and your concern is he may not handle the conference well.

In any case, the CBA provides the member with the right to waive the conference and submit a written defense/explanation/mitigation position statement.
